READING THE BOOK OF First Chronicles CHAPTER Seven.

Our favorite verse in 1 Chronicles Chapter 7 is:

Their father Ephraim mourned for them many days, and his relatives came to comfort him. (1 Chronicles 7:22 NIV)

Reflection

PAIN FOR OUR CHILDREN.
  • PAIN FOR HISTORIC HIJOS.COMENTARIO. – Two sons of Ephraim made rustling (cattle theft). In ancient cultures this agricultural-livestock was considered a very serious offense and in many cases paid with death. The people of Israel had to pay 5 or 4 times what he had stolen, depending on the type of livestock. If one did not have the money to replace the stolen, the person was sold into slavery.
  • PARENTS: Children give many joys, sorrows and at time many worries. However, one should never diminish our love and understanding for them. One of the most sacred roles of the father and the mother is their permanent intercessory work that their children may never depart from the divine path. Pray to be guided by the Holy Spirit, and cry to God for the sins of our children to be forgiven.
  • CHILDREN: Remember the commandment: Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God gives you. Give our parents joy instead of sadness, gratitude rather than despair, and satisfactions rather than frustrations. Let us ask God for forgiveness and also to our parents if we have hurt them.

    Prayer.

We turn to you our heavenly and eternal Father. We pray for our parents, thank you for your loving care, we ask you to look after their health, that we may have them with us for a long time. Also we pray for our children, that they may be able to enjoy their life on earth and an eternity with you in heaven. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
