READING THE BOOK OF FIRST KINGS CHAPTER EIGHTEEN.
Pray and faith are a powerful combination, God has promised to listen to us and bless us.
Our favorite verse in 1 Kings Chapter 18 is:
Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.” (1 Kings 18:37 NIV)
The Challenge
Enjoy the power of prayer and request the intercession of God in our lives.
- Pray and rest assured that God will respond our prayers: “Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.” James 5:17.
- Pray for God’s people around the world, that they may recognize that God the creator and sustainer of the world.
- Intercede before God for our family members and friends who have departed from God’s side.
Our Prayer
Dear Lord, we get discouraged so quickly when our prayers are not answered, please teach us to pray fervently as Elijah. We also ask for our relatives who have moved away from your grace, may they come back to you. That Your Holy Spirit may work continuously in them until they return to your loving arms. AMEN
