Reading the book of first Kings Chapter twenty-one.
Our favorite verse in 1 Kings chapter 21 is:
So Ahab went home, sullen and angry because Naboth the Jezreelite had said, “I will not give you the inheritance of my ancestors.” He lay on his bed sulking and refused to eat. (1 Kings 21:4 NIV)
LESSON: OUR “WANTS” MAY LEAD US TO WRONG PATHS.
- Many a times we behave like children, we cry, wine, and get mad because God does not give us what we want as this can cause us our salvation.
- Let’s not behave like Jezebel, who gave a malicious advice, leading a person to death. Let’s not solicit other people to participate making the innocent suffer.
- Life happy fulfilling the divine commandment: “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
Our Prayer
Father, take away from our hearts any selfish desire, of envy and jelousy, because others may have somethings that we do not. So i will be glad with others achievements. Give us your grace to live happy with all that you give us, in jesus’s name, amen.
