READING THE BOOK OF SECOND KINGS CHAPTER ONE.
Our trust in the Lord should lead us to approach Him first, to ask for His guidance and trust only on Him. When we look ales-ware for answers, we drive God away from our lives and bring pain into our lives.
Our favorite verse in 2 Kings Chapter 1 is:
“A man came to meet us,” they replied. “And he said to us, ‘Go back to the king who sent you and tell him, “This is what the Lord says: Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending messengers to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will certainly die!”’” (2 Kings 1:6 NIV)
Lesson
Consult God only.
- Let us reject spiritualists and fortune tellers. Do not inquire the horoscopes, palm readers, card-seers or any other form or fortune where the enemy spreads its deceits.
- Let’s get away from this kind of divination: “For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry.Because you have rejected the word of the Lord” (1 Samuel 15:23 NIV).
- Let us make a commitment to read the Holy Scriptures every day, that God may show us the events of the future, because He knows it all.
Our Prayer
Father, give us the gift of understanding to discern all forms of deception from Satan. Take our lives and our future in your hands, we are save and redeemed by Jesus, Amen.
