READING THE BOOK OF SECOND KINGS CHAPTER TEN.
It is important not to be distinguished or mixed among those that worship false gods. May God mercy and love lead us to stay by His site always.
Our favorite verse in 9 Kings Chapter 10 is:
Then Jehu and Jehonadab son of Rekab went into the temple of Baal. Jehu said to the servants of Baal, “Look around and see that no one who serves the Lord is here with you—only servants of Baal.” ( 2 Kings 10:23 NIV)
Lesson
One should not be in wrong meetings.
- Jehu made people believe that he would extent the worship of the pagan god Baal. Jehu summits all Baal’s worshippers to a special religious meeting, he request that no worshiper should be absent.
- Before proceeding with his plan, Johu asks if anybody came into the pagan meeting by mistake they should not be there. This was the last opportunity for those that worshiped the true God to leave that place.
- History tells us that everyone there was killed for not worshipping the true God. There is no mention that any God fearing worshipper may have been in that place, may be because nobody can serve two lords.
Prayer.
Dear merciful father. We thank you for the gift of life; we thank you for a new day and the opportunity to worship you freely. We want to ask you to help us always use our words, thoughts and actions to worship only You and be used for your service. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
