READING THE BOOK OF SECOND KINGS CHAPTER THIRTEEN.
There is nothing that we can hide from God, he is ready to take care of our needs, give us abundance and victory. We need to call out to Him and put our lives with faith at His feet.
Our favorite verse in 9 Kings Chapter 13 is:
Then Jehoahaz sought the Lord’s favor, and the Lord listened to him, for he saw how severely the king of Aram was oppressing Israel. (2 Kings 13:4 NIV)
Lesson
God always listens to our prayers and is ready to aid us regardless of the circumstances.
- Jehoahz, king of Israel, behavior was similar to that of his predecessors, worshiping pagan gods and gross disobedience to God. However, God is always ready to forgive us, give us new opportunities for a life of peace and happiness.
-
Prayer is a powerful tool, when it comes from a humble and contrite heart it reaches the throne of God through the Holy Spirit. Our prayers are answered by God through the merits of Christ on our behalf. If we are in distress, or have unsolved problems, if we have a healthy desire for change and cry out to God in prayer with faith on Christ, we can claim victory in His name.
- The bible teaches us that God sees and takes into account all oppression, injustice, abuse, or rejection in our lives. Therefore, as we cry out to God, He hears us, and is ready to sustains us and solve our problem.
Prayer.
Our dear heavenly Father, we ask for forgiveness of all our sins and shortcomings we claim that in the same way you attended to Jehoahz, also hear our prayer. Please, fulfill our needs, take away our afflictions and give us victory. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
