READING THE BOOK OF SECOND KINGS CHAPTER ONESEVEN.

God has promise that He will fight our battles, that His power is ready to keep us from evil and bless us in abundance; do we have the required faith to claim His power?

Our favorite verse in 2 Kings Chapter 7 is:

The officer on whose arm the king was leaning said to the man of God, “Look, even if the Lord should open the floodgates of the heavens, could this happen?” “You will see it with your own eyes,” answered Elisha, “but you will not eat any of it!” (2 Kings 7:2 NIV)

Lesson
The impossible is possible through divine power.

  • The king’s aide doubted the word of the prophet and the power of God. This lack of faith cost him his life.
  • The destruction of the enemy needed no army, no weapons, no fighting, only the work of God. Praise our Savior! Every day one can recognize the saving power of God working on our behalf.
  • After praying, or reading a biblical promise, we should believe on the word of the Lord and live on that promise.  One needs to exercise the faith in order to fully enjoy the blessings of God.

Prayer

Dear Father, We don’t want to doubt your word. One again we ask that you may increase our faith. Please give us more faith to believe, more faith to obey and more faith to thrive. In the name of Jesus, AMEN.
