READING THE BOOK OF SECOND KINGS CHAPTER EIGHT.
God is behind everything that happens around us, He allows and directs what happens to us, from kings to our simple needs and requests, He wants to bless us and give us a future.
Our favorite verse in 2 Kings Chapter 8 is:
Just as Gehazi was telling the king how Elisha had restored the dead to life, the woman whose son Elisha had brought back to life came to appeal to the king for her house and land. Gehazi said, “This is the woman, my lord the king, and this is her son whom Elisha restored to life.” (2 Kings 8:5 NIV)
Lesson
Nothing that happens should be attributed as “coincidence” or “circumstantial”
- A daughter of God needed a favor from the king of Israel, but before she could ask for it, God had already decided to open the doors of blessings for her. When the woman came to the king, he had just been talking the miracle of Elisha of resurrecting her son. The king ordered the return of her land, including the gains that this had generated all those years.
- When we experience the opening of “doors” for opportunity, do not attribute it to “luck”, say: thank God for giving me this blessing.
- Cultivate the habit of praying for God to anticipate the events or circumstances that our goals and aspirations may come to fruition.
Prayer
Thank you Father for loving us. Even before we ask you already surround us with your grace. We ask that we may be able to see your guiding hand and enjoy your wonderful blessings. Thank you. In the name of Jesus, AMEN.
