READING THE BOOK OF SECOND KINGS CHAPTER NINE.
God works in incredible ways to lead His people. We have a special responsibility to be the salt of the earth, we can not separate ourselves from this world of sin but we are call to be different and share our light to those around us.
Our favorite verse in 9 Kings Chapter 9 is:
Joram turned about and fled, calling out to Ahaziah, “Treachery, Ahaziah!”(2 Kings 9:23 NIV)
Lesson
One cannot escape the world but should be distinguished from it.
- Joram continued with his sinful behavior and rebellion against God. He died on the ground that belonged to Naboth.
- The mistake of Ahaziah, king of Juda, was not necessarily his bad choice of non-converted friends; his error resided in not being a positive influence in their lives.
- Two kings died the same day. Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Juda, a saddening ending for two important leaders of the people of God.
Prayer.
Dear heavenly father, allow us to make a difference in the lives of those around us. We want to have the privilege to influence the life of those around us. Keep us away from sin and make fill us with your grace. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
