Our verse of reference in Esther 8 is:

“ In every province and in every city to which the edict of the king came, there was joy and gladness among the Jews, with feasting and celebrating. And many people of other nationalities became Jews because fear of the Jews had seized them.”  (Esther 8:17 NIV).

Historical Review. –  The events that occurred in quick review: the appearance of Esther before the king, the great favor she asked for, the banquets of the king and queen with Haman as the only guest, disturbed the sleep of the king, the public honor shown Mordecai and the humiliation and fall of Haman to be discovered his wicked plot, are all part of a familiar story. God worked admirably for his penitent people. The decree promulgated by the king to allow the Jews to fight for their life, communicated quickly to all parts of the realm… And in every province and in every city, wherever the king’s commandment came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. Trust in God. – As we live this earthly life, we can not fully understand the WHY God allows us to go through difficulties: death of loved ones, loss of jobs , family problems, injustices, slander, etc.. The story of Esther and Mordecai, strengthens our confidence in God, because He acts on behalf of their children. Repeat with the Psalmist: “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me (Psalm 23:4). Trust in God, because He observes and assists their children who cry for help.
Express gratitude to God. – When God’s people living in the entire Medo-Persian region, learned of the edict which protected them from death, they ” had feast and gladness, and joy and honor “(verse 16). We smile, we jump for joy, express happiness when we experience divine miracles are made on our behalf. Be happy, smile to life.
