God cares. Everything that God does in our lives is to strengthen us and prepare us for heaven.

Our verse of reference in Job 5 is:

““Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.” (Job 5:17 NIV).

Reflection

Accept the correction and discipline of the Lord.
God corrects us for our good. – The Lord rebukes and corrects those who profess to keep His law. He points out their sins and presents their iniquity, because He wants to keep us away from all sin and wickedness, in order to achieve perfect holiness, and be prepared to die in the Lord or be taken to Heaven. God rebukes and corrects, to refined, sanctified, elevate, and finally to exalt us to his throne 2 CT 402. Just as parents warn their children, also our heavenly Father corrects to straighten what is astray. Let us be grateful to God, for His admonition and correction is for salvation: Blessed is the man whom thou, Lord, chasten, and teaches him out of thy law Ps 94:12.

Accept divine discipline. – The discipline that God gives encompasses a variety of areas: a) discipline over time to optimize the opportunities presented, b) Discipline in the familiar, to correct the parents or children, c) Discipline through scarcity, in order to  value every cent, d) Discipline with a broken health, to learn to eat properly or to practice temperance  e) discipline through testing, to learn to depend on God, f) Discipline through failure, to be humble and dependent on God .

Loving God, thank you that you are interested in us, help us to glorify you with our bodies, mind and soul. We ask that you correct and discipline us to become pure and testify of your saving grace. We want to enjoy eternity in your presence. In the name of Jesus, amen.
