God does not always answer our prayers the way we want.– s.
Our verse of reference in Job 6 is:
“Oh, that I might have my request, that God would grant what I hope for,.” (Job 6:9 NIV).
Reflection
Let us be instruments of consolation
God does not always give what is asked. – In desperation product of trial and suffering, Job asks God to grant him death as a gift. What would have happened if God granted him what he requested? He had lost the following: a) No we had the encouraging message: “I know that my Redeemer lives” (Job 19:25), b) who would not intercede with God for his friends (Job 42:8), c) We would not have known the happy ending to the restoration of Job. Dear friend and friend, are we asking God what is appropriate and what is best for our lives and our families? Many times, we do not know how to ask, so, remember this biblical promise: “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for pray as we ought, we know not: but the Spirit itself intercedes for us with groans that words” Rom 8:26.
God always answers. – Examples recorded in the Bible demonstrate three answers: a) God sometimes says no as he told Paul: “Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away; but he told me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” 2 Cor 12:8. b) God sometimes says WAIT, and this wait can last a long time: “Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled? And he said, Unto two thousand and three hundred days, then the sanctuary be cleansed “Dan 8:13, 14. c) God also says YES, and this itself is immediate: And upon returning home that had been sent, found the servant whole that had been sick Luke 7:10.
Prayer
Almighty God. We pray that you increase the faith we understand your ways. Teach us to pray, to ask what is required, and your Holy Spirit perfections our prayers to be heard from your holy throne. By Jesus, amen.
