Our verse of reference in Nehemiah 6 is:
“When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.” (Nehemiah 6:16 NIV).
Reflection
God humiliates those who try to do hurt His children.- The dilemma that often hunts the children of God is our human tendency to take vengeance into our own hands, instead of letting God do justice for us. Nehemiah endured false accusations and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit he rejected the advice that would have driven away divine protection. Nehemiah prayed continually and deposited his trust in God who has the power to solve all our problems. Nehemiah believed in the biblical promise: “The Lord exalts the humble and humbles the wicked to the ground (Ps. 147:6). Put your life in the hands of God, He is responsible to humiliate those who wish us harm.
Prayer
Dear Father, thank you for fighting our battles. We want to depend totally on you and walk from victory to victory by your hand. In the name of Jesus, amen.
