Let God direct your life and enjoy every victory .God is ready to fight our battles and give us victory if only we allow Him.

Our verse of reference in Nehemiah 6 is:

When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.” (Nehemiah 6:16 NIV).

Reflection

IF GOD IS WITH US, NO ONE CAN BE AGAINST US.

Historical Commentary.- Nehemiah’s devotion to the work of God, and his belief in God were the reason for the failure of his enemies to lure him into  their possession. The indolent soul easily falls prey to temptation, but those who have noble goals and a purpose don’t let evil finds a foothold in their lives. The Lord offers His divine assistance for all our emergencies, specially when our human and finite resources are not enough.  He has given us the Holy Spirit to help us in all our shortcoming, to strengthen our hope and give us assurance, to illuminate our spirits and cleanse our hearts. God provides opportunities for a prosperous life, if we look out for  indications of His providence, and are ready to cooperate with him, we will see great results. PR 488.

God humiliates those who try to do hurt His children.- The dilemma that often hunts the children of God is our human tendency to take vengeance into our own hands, instead of letting God do justice for us. Nehemiah endured false accusations and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit he rejected the advice that would have driven away divine protection. Nehemiah prayed continually and deposited his trust in God who has the power to solve all our problems. Nehemiah believed in the biblical promise: “The Lord exalts the humble and humbles the wicked to the ground (Ps. 147:6). Put your life in the hands of God, He is responsible to humiliate those who wish us harm.

Recognize that God is who grants us success.- Success and victory can be achieved by following Nehemiah’s formula: a) permanent Prayer, to deposit our faith in Him who has unlimited power, b) Work with all our strength, heart and understanding, preventing anything from distracting us from our goals. By cultivating these faculties we would prepare ourselves to walk from victory unto victory by the hand of God.

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for fighting our battles. We want to depend totally on you and walk from victory to victory by your hand. In the name of Jesus, amen.
